How to configure Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2008 R2/2012/2014 Express?

There are 3 ways of connection to MS SQL. You can do it through :

  1. TCP/IP
  2. IPX/SPX
  3. PIPE

Our software uses TCP/IP protocol for conversion process by default. You should open this protocol through MS SQL Configuration Tools. If you still can not connect to the server check firewall settings or reconfigure your MS SQL server using one of the ways described above. Also make sure that password field is empty if you log in as super administrator.

All MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2008 R2/2012/2014 Express editions could be specified both as source and target database. Follow step-by-step instructions with screenshots:

Make sure that TCP/IP enabled.

Finally restart MS SQL Express services and check connection to SQL Server.

"Refresh" button pulls down list of Databases.
